The Lok Sabha has been adjourned for the day and the Rajya Sabha till 2 p.m. as stalemate between the government and the opposition on coal block allocation continued on the 9th day today.
Earlier, both the Houses of Parliament were adjourned till noon today over the coal block allocation issue as the BJP members trooped into the well shouting slogans. In the Lok Sabha, amidst din, Speaker Meira Kumar called for the first question . However, as the uproar continued for some time, the Chair adjourned the House till noon. Some of the DMK members were seen displaying placards demanding the government should stop training the Sri Lankan Army personnel in India.
Similar situation prevailed in the Rajya Sabha. As soon as the proceedings began, Chairman Mohammed Hamid Ansari called for the first listed question but the opposition trooped into the well . Amidst din, the Chairman adjourned the proceedings till noon.
Our Parliamentary Correspondent reports that the BJP has been demanding the Prime Minister's resignation over the coal blocks allocation issue for the last fortnight.
