The Lok sabha was adjourned for the day today and the Rajya Sabha till 2 PM on the issues of Telangana and the arrest of Tamil fishermen by the Sri Lankan Navy. Both the Houses witnessed noisy scenes over the two issues.
In the Lok Sabha, the situation was chaotic even after it re-assembled after the first adjournment.
Members from Andhra Pradesh belonging to Congress, Telangana Rashtra Samiti, Telugu Desam Party and YSR-Congress raised slogans either in favour or against Telangana.
Members from Tamil Nadu were also seen in the well protesting the arrest of Tamil fishermen. Amidst din, Speaker Meira Kumar tried to reason with the agitated members but in vain. Following unruly scenes, she adjourned the House for the day.
In the Rajya Sabha, Samajwadi Party members demanded a discussion over the alleged distribution of cash and mobile phones to the people of the constituency by Steel Minister Beni Prasad Verma at a function in Lucknow.
As soon as the House re-assembled after an hour long adjournment, members from Andhra Pradesh trooped into the well in support of their demand for United Andhra.
Members from Tamil Nadu also rushed to the well seeking the release of the Tamil fishermen, arrested by the Sri Lankan Navy.
