Around20 per cent voting is reported in the first four hours of the Delhi Municipal Corporations elections. Voting to the all 272 seats, spread over the three newly constituted Municipal Corporations of Delhi is in progress. According to the Delhi State Election Commission official, so far voting is peaceful at all 11543 polling stations across the city and no untoward incident has been reported. Elaborate arrangements have been made by the Commission to ensure free and fair election. AIR correspondent reports that the polling started at 8.00 A.M. and it will continue till 5.30 P.M. Over 2400 candidates are in the fray. Both South and North Delhi Municipal Corporations have 104 wards each while East Delhi has 64 wards. These local bodies have been carved out from the earlier Municipal Corporation of Delhi, MCD.
