Low floor buses purchased by Delhi at higher rates unsuitable for some city roads:CAG

The Comptroller and Auditor General has pointed out in its report that the low floor buses purchased by the Delhi government at higher rates are unsuitable for some city roads. It said it is wasting money on feasibility studies on unviable projects and not seeking better value on its investments.

In its report for the fiscal ending March 2009, the auditor pointed out that the city government had resorted to "avoidable and unfruitful" exenditure on several projects which were found unviable and failed in recovering around 3,600 crore rupees realisable revenue.

The report also criticised the Delhi Government for awarding various consultancy jobs to a private company and giving money it claimed. The company in question is DIMTS, the consultancy firm for the controversial BRT project, which charges fee for implementing projects and conducting studies.
