Today is the birth anniversary of Louis Braille, the inventor of the Braille script for the visually challenged people. The day is also marked as 'Louis Braille Day' every year on 4th January. A series of functions have been organised by Blind Peoples Association- BPA Ahmedabad and other organisations in the state on this occasion. AIR correspondent reports that evening Regional News bulletin of All India Radio Ahmedabad will be read by visually challenged person to create sensitivity and spread awareness among the masses. Regional News Unit of All India Radio – Ahmedabad is following this practice since last 12 years, which reflects the competency of news reading from Braille script by visual challenged person.
