The President Pranab Mukherjee has called upon the trade, commerce and business conglomerates to make more generous contributions towards improving science and technology research, particularly in the field of non-conventional energy. <br/><br/>Inaugurating the Integrated Bio-Solar-Wind Micro-grid Centre and Centre for Water and Environmental Research at the Indian Institute of Engineering Science University (formerly known as BE College), Mr. Mukherjee said that a lot of work and scientific research needs to be done with an aim to emancipate downtrodden people and make their lives more easy and more comfortable. <br/><br/>The President specifically asked the industrial, the business and scientific communities to lay emphasis and financial material help in trying to develop technology on a scale that would serve the daily needs of the common man. Pointing out that there is no escape from future environmental disasters, the President said. It is a matter of same that woman folk in some parts of our country have to walk miles to fill two or three pitchers of water.
