Longest annular solar eclipse of millenium takes place today

<br/>Astronomy lovers are in for a rare celestial treat as they will be able to witness the millennium’s longest annular solar eclipse on Friday. Speaking to AIR, Science Popularisation Association of Communicators and Educators Director C B Devgun said the solar eclipse on January 15 is the longest annular solar eclipse that will occur in the 21st century. There won't be an annular solar eclipse longer than this one till 3043 <br/> <br/>The path of the annularity in India will pass over the states of Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Mizoram while the partial phase of eclipse will be visible all over the country. The whole country will see at least the partial phases of this eclipse. <br/> <br/>Mr Devgun also cautioned not to look at the solar eclipse directly. <br/> <br/>AIR correspondent covering the eclipse reports that Vikram Sarabhai Centre and ISRO are assessing the various impact of this eclipse <br/> <br/>AIR Allahabad correspondent reports that elaborate arrangements have been made for the holy dip at Sangam on the day of eclipse.<br/> <br/>Haryana government has made adequate arrangements for solar eclipse fair at Kurukshetra on Friday<br/> <br/>AIR correspondent reports that in Uttarakhand, a large number of pilgrims are taking holy dip in the icy water of river Ganga at Haridwar on the auspicious day of 'Mauni Amawasya' amidst severing cold.<br/>
