A day after Maharashtra government issued notification to open shops of non-essential items including liquor in COVID-19 non-containment zones. long queues were seen outside liquor outlets this morning. However, due to non-adherence of social distancing norms by large number of crowd, the police were compelled to take strict action against the public and shop owners. In many places police asked liquor shop owners to shut their outlets. District administrations in Solapur, Aurangabad, Jalna, Buldhana and Amravati have issued instructions that liquor shops will not be allowed to open. The Nagpur civic body has also decided not to allow liquor sale in the city municipal limits. While, in many places large number of labourers queued for registration and seeking medical certificate outside police stations.<br />
