Long queues could be seen today as well at banks and ATMs all over the country as people rushed to get new banknotes in lieu of their old defunct notes. Government is expecting the situation to be normal in the next four-five days. People can deposit the defunct notes at the bank or post office till 30th December. <br/><br/>After December 30th, the old notes can be deposited at the Reserve Bank with a declaration. People can fill up a form and can submit with any identity cards including Aadhaar card, PAN Card, Passport or any government identity card to exchange notes.<br/><br/>Security has been beefed up outside banks and ATMs. Along with the district police, paramilitary personnel have also been deployed. At some places, RAF jawans are also deployed to keep the situation under control.<br/><br/>After visiting four five branches we found out today that the crowd is more since it's a weekend and many people have an off today. Though the crowd is swelling by the hour but all functioning smoothly as people believe this is good for them and for the country.
