Lone woman minister in Karnataka Cabinet quits

In a sudden move the Karnataka Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister and the lone woman in the state Cabinet, Shobha Karandlaje has resigned. The Chief Minister Mr. B S Yeddyurappa has accepted her resignation. The rebel leaders had demanded Shobha’s ouster during negotiation with the Central leaders. As demanded by the rebels, Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary V P Baligar was also transferred earlier. However, Mr. Yeddyurappa said this morning that cabinet reshuffle will be decided only after core committee meeting next week.
