Lone suspect in Infosys techie murder case commits suicide

The lone suspect in the murder case of Infosys techie Swathi in Chennai has allegedly committed suicide inside the Puzhal central prison this evening. He is reported to have caught hold of a live wire to end his life. <br/><br/>The gruesome murder of Swathi on June 24 at the Nungambakkam railway station while waiting to embark on a suburban train to go to her office shocked the whole country.<br/><br/>When the police apprehended Ramkumar from his native village near Tenkasiin Tirunelveli district of southern Tamil Nadu based on CC TV footages, he reportedly tried to commit suicide by slitting his throat. At that time, the police immediately admitted him in the government hospital and treated to save his life.<br/><br/>When information reached the jail authorities today that he had bit a live wire and lying unconscious, he was rushed to the hospital inside the prison but his pulse was dropping low. He was rushed to the Government Royapettah Hospital in Chennai where he was pronounced brought dead.<br/><br/>Family members of Ramkumar in Tirunelveli expressed doubts about the cause of his death. Police officials said an investigation on on to look into the circumstances that led to the prisoner's alleged suicide.
