The newly-constituted joint drafting committee of the Lokpal Bill is likely to meet next week. The convenor of the joint committee and Union Law Minister M Veerappa Moily said, the first meeting is tentatively slated for the 16th of this month. The 10-member committee headed by Senior Minister Pranab Mukherjee will get down to preparing the draft of the anti-corruption bill. The draft bill is likely to be ready by June end. Veteran Gandhian and social activist Anna Hazare clarified today that representatives from civil society to the Drafting committee needs experts who can draft a stronger Lokpal bill. He was reacting over comments of Baba Ramdev for taking exception to inclusion of father-son duo Shanti and Prashant Bhushan in the Lokpal Bill committee. Anna Hazare said, it was important to have experts in it rather than representation of individuals. Meanwhile Ramdev today said, the question of nepotism was raised by the media and not him. Ramdev also said he trusts Anna Hazare's judgement on the matter. One of the members of drafting committee, Mr Kejariwal had earlier said that, the decision to select the representatives of civil society for the committee was taken unanimously and there is no controversy in it.
