In Karnataka, the Lokayukta police on Wednesday issued First Information Report, FIR, against former Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa in connection with Upper Bhadra project tender allocation case. Janata Dal (Secular) General Secretary Y S V Datta had filed the case with the allegation that the sons of Yeddyurappa had received kickback in return for allocation of Upper Bhadra Lift irrigation scheme to a company which had quoted a higher rate in the tender.In another case today, a division bench of the Karnataka High Court adjourned former Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa’s petition to the 17th of this month. In the petition, Yeddyurappa has sought quashing of chapter 22 of the Lokayukta report on illegal mining, which holds him guilty in connection with financial transactions between a Mining Company and Prerana Educational Trust, owned and managed by his family.
