The Lokayukta Police Karnataka on Monday filed an FIR against former Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa and his family members following its report into illegal mining. Yeddyurappa, his sons B Y Raghavendra, MP and B Y Vijendra and son-in-law R N Sohan Kumar and others have been named in the FIR under various sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act. The action follows Governor H R Bhardwaj forwarding the report to Lokayukta for initiating criminal proceedings against Yeddyurappa and others. On August 20th, Lokayukta Shivaraj Patil had directed the Lokayukta police to proceed in the matter according to law.
