Gujarat High Court on Monday postponed hearing on a petition filed by state government challenging the appointment of Lokayukta by the Governor without consulting the Chief Minister. The court will take up the matter on Wednesday.

On the 25th of last month, Gujarat Governor Dr.Shrimati Kamla had appointed former Judge of Gujarat High Court RA Mehta as the state Lokayukta, as the post of Lokayukta was vacant since more than seven years.
