Lokayukta Court asks police to submit final report over allegations of financial irregularities by Yeddyurappa

The Lokayukta Court in Bangalore has asked the police to submit its final report within a month over allegations of financial irregularities by former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa in the award of Upper Bhadra Irrigation project work to a private firm. The order was given by Judge N K Sudhindra Rao today after a status report on the ongoing investigation was filed. The judge asked the Investigating Officer of Lokayukta police, DSP Girish to submit the final report by November 26.

After directives of the court, the police had earlier registered an FIR on August 10, against Yeddyurappa following a complaint filed by JD-S leader Y S V Datta.

In his complaint, Datta had alleged that the second stage of the project was awarded to RNS Jyoti firm, which was the highest bidder after rejecting the lowest bidder.

He had alleged that RNS Jyothi firm had transferred 13 crore rupees to two firms – Dhavalagiri Developers and Sahyadri Healthcare – owned by Yeddyurappa's sons and son-in-law for awarding the contract.
