The Lok Sabha today witnessed multiple adjournments in pre lunch session over BJP leader Tarun Vijay's controversial remarks on racism and South Indians. As soon as the House met for the day, Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge raised the issue. The Speaker Sumitra Mahajan did not allow him saying the issue can be raised during Zero Hour.<br/><br/>However, Congress leaders trooped into the well of the House shouting slogans .Parliamentary Affairs minister Ananth Kumar said there is no South India, East India or middle India. <br/><br/>He said there is only one India. Mr Kumar tried to pacify the agitating members but Congress members did not relent from shouting slogans and the Speaker adjourned the House for 10 minutes.<br/><br/>During the Zero Hour, Mr Kharge again raise the issue and demanded action against Mr Vijay . Replying to that, Home minister Rajnath Singh said India is a secular country and there is no discrimination in caste, creed and colour between anyone. Mr Singh also said the leader who gave the statement has himself regretted over the issue and the matter should be over.<br/><br/>But, the opposition members including Congress and Left did not pay heed to Mr Kumar's appeal and trooped into the well and shouted slogans. Amidst the din, the Speaker adjourned the House.<br/>Not satisfied with the Home minister's reply, Congress leaders raised slogans.<br/><br/>In the commotion, the Speaker adjourned the House for 25 minutes to 12.45 PM. When the House reassembled, the situation was not different. Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge stick to his demand for a action against Tarun Vijay. <br/><br/>However, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ananth Kumar reiterated that Mr Vijay has already apologised for his remarks and the Government and BJP treat all people as Indian and there is no discrimination so the matter should be put rest.
