The Lok Sabha has taken up the Indian Institute of Petroleum and Energy Bill, 2017 for discussion. The bill establishes the Indian Institute of Petroleum and Energy at Vishakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh and to declare the Institute as an institution of national importance. <br/><br/> The Institute aims at providing high quality education and research focussing on the themes of petroleum, hydrocarbons and energy. Moving the bill, Petroleum and natural gas minister Dharmendra Pradhan said the Institute will provide skilled manpower in the field of energy and hydrocarbon. The discussion is continuing.
