Lok Sabha takes up discussion on Motion of Thanks on President's Address to both Houses

The Lok Sabha has taken up discussion on the Motion of Thanks on the President's Address on Wednesday. Moving the discussion, BJP member Harish Dwivedi said the Centre is focused on generation of employment to millions of youth across the country with impartiality and fairness. He recounted the achievements of the Government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir and the efforts to build Ram Temple in Ayodhya as commendable.<br />'' <br />''Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said in the Presidential Address, there is no mention about unemployment. He charged that the unorganized sector has taken a beating, while the MSMEs have been choked by the moves like demonetization, Covid-19 and the erroneous GST. Mr Gandhi said the vision of Make in India cannot be realized without the unorganized sector. He claimed that there has been a 46 per cent drop in manufacturing jobs during the last five years. He said the institutional framework of the country is under attack.<br />'' <br />''DMK leader TR Baalu said the NDA Government's promise of generating two crore jobs every year still remains a dream. He reiterated the demand to give exemption for his home state of Tamil Nadu from the NEET examination in undergraduate medical admission. He sought adequate compensation from the Centre for the loss of properties during the recent floods. <br />'' <br />''Professor Sougata Roy of the All India Trinamool Congress regretted the rejection of the tableau from West Bengal, made for the Republic Day Parade. He opposed the move to deploy All India Service officers under Central deputation without the consent of the states.<br />'' <br />''<span style="color: #222222;">Marghani of the YSR Congress Party said the textiles industry will be rejuvenated by the mega integrated textile regions and apparel parks as mentioned in the Presidential address.</span>
