Lok Sabha takes up Constitution (ST) Order (Second Amendment) Bill, 2022 for consideration & passing

<span style="color: #222222;">Lok Sabha has taken up the Constitution (Scheduled Tribes) Order (Second Amendment) Bill, 2022 for consideration and passing.  The Bill seeks to amend the Constitution (Scheduled Tribes) Order, 1950, with respect to its application to Tamil Nadu. The Order lists the tribal communities deemed to be Scheduled Tribes in States and Union Territories.  <br />''<br />''Union Minister for Tribal Affairs Arjun Munda tabled the Bill for discussion and passing and said, the Bill includes the Narikoravan and Kurivikkaran communities in the list of Scheduled Tribes in Tamil Nadu.<br />''<br />''Initiating the discussion K. Jaikumar of Congress said that there is a need to include more tribes in this Bill. During the discussion, Ranjeetsinha BJP MP from Maharashtra welcomed the Bill and said that his party is doing those works for the poor and tribal which was not done in the last 70 years.  <br />''<br />''Ramesh Chandra Manji from BJD, Promila Mandal of Trinamool Congress, K Subbarayan, CPI MP from Tamilnadu, Raju Vishtha BJP MP from Darjiling and other members also participated in the discussion which remained inconclusive.</span><br />
