Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan has suspended six Congress MPs for five sittings over willfully disrupting the House. <br/><br/>Party MPs are Gaurav Gogoi, K. Suresh, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhary, Ranjeet Ranjan, Sushmita Dev and M K Raghavan. They had thrown pieces of paper and tried to disrupt proceedings during zero hour in the Lok Sabha today. <br/><br/>The members were also warned during Question Hour by the Speaker when they raised slogans over incidents of lynching and plight of farmers. <br/><br/>When met after post lunch, the Speaker read out the name of these MPs announcing their suspension. She also adjourned the House till 2.30 PM. When the House reassembled, Deputy Speaker M Thambidurai asked the suspended members to leave the House but opposition MPs trooped into well raising slogans. Later, Deputy Speaker adjourned the House for the day.<br/><br/>Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ananth Kumar came down heavily on Congress for disrupting the proceedings in the Lok Sabha and said it is a black day of Parliamentary democracy, the way opposition behaved today. <br/><br/>Reacting to suspension of six Congress MPs from the House, Mr. Kumar said, throwing papers on chair is condemnable. He said the Bofors scam issue has again came to the fore and the country wants to know the truth from the Congress. He was talking to reporters outside Parliament.<br/><br/>Earlier, BJP MP Meenakshi Lekhi also raised Bofors issue in the Lok Sabha and demanded to reopen probe into the alleged scam.<br/><br/>The Swedish police official who led the investigations into the scam, has been reported as saying in some documents that former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi and the then Swedish Prime Minister discussed the details of a financial quid-pro-quo before the Bofors gun deal. The alleged irregularities into the deal came to light in 1989.
