Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan has called an All Party Meeting in New Delhi today to discuss the ways for smooth functioning of Parliament. During the meeting, Mrs Mahajan will seek cooperation from floor leaders of different parties to ensure smooth transaction of business in the House. The session will commence tomorrow and it will continue till 13th of next month.<br/><br/>Last month, the Budget session of Parliament which was prorogued to facilitate promulgation of the Ordinance to meet the financial requirements of Centrally ruled Uttarakhand. Hence, this will be entirely a new session.<br/><br/>During the session, government hopes to garner the support of opposition parties in passage of key legislations including the Goods and Services Tax Bill. Besides, Bill to replace Enemy Property Ordinance, Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code and Companies Amendment Bill will also be taken up. <br/><br/>Meanwhile, the Government has said it is ready to discuss all issues in Parliament. Talking to UNI in New Delhi yesterday, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Mukhar Abbas Naqvi said though Uttarakhand issue is before the Supreme Court, the government is ready to discuss it, if the Opposition insists. <br/><br/>Erlier, the Congress had given notices for suspension of Question Hour in the Rajya Sabha to discuss Uttarakhand crisis when the Parliament session.
