In Lok Sabha during the Zero hour today, UPA Chairperson Mrs. Sonia Gandhi raised strong objections and demanded the withdrawal of gender insensitive passage in the tenth class exam paper by the Central Board of School Education. She said, blatantly misogynistic material finding its way into an important examination by the CBSE. While demanding an apology, Mrs. Gandhi appealed for the withdrawal of the passage given for the students in the CBSE exam papers and a thorough review into the lapses to ensure this never repeated again. She also suggested the Education Ministry review gender sensitivity standards in the curriculum and testing.<br />'' <br />'' The Opposition demanded the government to respond to the issue with a statement. Several members also sought a review of the entire CBSE curriculum. However, Speaker Om Birla said that it was not the practice in the Lok Sabha that the Minister would respond on every matter.
