The Lok Sabha today resumed discussion on the private member resolution on steps to ensure welfare of Employees Provident Fund pensioners. <br/><br/>N K Premachadran of the RSP who had moved the resolution demanded government to increase the existing minimum pension from one thousand rupees to three thousand rupees.<br/><br/>He also demanded setting up of a Joint Committee of Parliament to suggest ways to revamp the existing Employees Pension Scheme. <br/><br/>Kirit Solanki of BJP said, the NDA government has taken various measures to bring maximum number of employees under the ambit of Employees Provident Fund, EPF. He said, the companies employing 10 workers has also been covered under it. The discussion remained inconclusive.
