During post-lunch session,the Lok Sabha today resumed discussion on the situation arising out of drought and drinking water crisis in many states and need to consider inter-linking of rivers and water resource management. <br/><br/>Participating in the debate, R Dhruvanarayana of Congress demanded the Centre to immediately release funds to Karnataka for paying compensation to farmers. <br/><br/>He also requested the government to waive off the interest on farm loan. Kristappa Nimmala of TDP underlined the need for putting in place a permanent plan to address the problem of drought situation. <br/><br/>Virendra Singh of BJP stressed on the need for interlinking of rivers and preservation of well and ponds for water storage.
