The Lok Sabha has referred the Financial Resolution and Deposit Insurance,Bill, 2017 to Joint Committee of Parliament. The motion to send the bill to the Committee was adopted by the House. <br/><br/>The Committee will have 20 members from the Lok Sabha and ten from the Rajya Sabha. The bill was introduced by Minister of State for Finance Arjun Ram Meghwal. The Committee will submit its report by last day of the first week of next session.<br/><br/>Responding to the demand of some members of sending it to the Standing Committee instead of Joint Committee, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs S S Ahluwalia said, it will give more leverage to the members to present their views. He said, since it is a new legislation, the members can discuss it in-depth to give more concrete suggestions.
