The Lok Sabha has passed the Central Universities (Amendment) Bill, 2019 by voice vote. The Bill seeks to establish two new universities- the Central University and the Central Tribal University in Andhra Pradesh. <br />'' <br />'' Replying to a debate on the bill, Human Resource Development Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank said, the Universities will be set up with a cost of 1700 crore rupees in four years in Andhra Pradesh.&nbsp;<br />'' <br />'' He said, in the first phase, 450 crore rupees will be provided for the Central University and 420 crore rupees for the Central Tribal University. <br />'' <br />'' Mr Nishnak said, the government has accorded high priority to strengthen the education system in the country. <br />'' <br />'' He said, the NDA government has increased the budget of education from 67 thousand crore rupees in 2013-14 to 95 thousand crore rupees this year.&nbsp;<br />'' <br />'' He said, if thirty thousand crore rupees of Higher Education Fund Agency budget is taken together then the education budget will become to the tune of 1.25 lakh crore rupees. <br />'' <br />'' Mr Nishank said, Jawaharlal Nehru University has proved to be a very good institution in terms of research and the government will further enhance its standard.<br />'' <br />'' Rajiv Pratap Rudy of BJP, Bhartruhari Mahtab of BJD, Sougata Roy of TMC, K Suresh of Congress and others participated in the discussion.<br />'' &nbsp;
