Parliament has passed the National Capital Territory of Delhi Laws (Special Provisions) Second Amendment Bill, 2017 with the Rajya Sabha adopting the same today.<br/><br/>The Bill extends the deadline for relocating slum dwellers and Jhuggi-Jhopri clusters, regulating street vendors, regularising unauthorised colonies, village abadi areas and creating a policy for farm houses constructed beyond permissible limits. <br/><br/>It also has provisions for creating a policy or plan for all other areas of Delhi in keeping with the Master Plan of 2021. Under the 2011 Act, the relaxation was up to 31st of this month which has been extended for a period up to December 31, 2020. <br/><br/>Replying to a brief discussion, Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs, Hardeep Singh Puri sought extension of time to provide basic amenities for the people in the unauthorized colonies in the capital.
