Lok Sabha adjourns till noon

The Lok Sabha has been adjourned till noon on the opening day of the second part of the Budget Session following opposition uproar on various issues.

As soon as the House began, members from Trinamool Congress trooped into the well of the House demanding arrest of CPM cadres who allegedly manhandled West Bengal Finance Minister Amit Mitra in front of Yojana Bhavan in New Delhi.

Members from the Telangana region also rushed to the well demanding introduction of a Bill for separate Telangana State. BJP members also raised slogans demanding death sentence for rapists.

Earlier, Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar led the House in condemning the horrific incident of rape and brutal assault of five- year old child in Delhi and wished for early recovery of the victim hospitalised at AIIMS.

The House also paid tributes to those who lost their lives in unfortunate incidents including the Thane building collapse, Boston bomb blasts, earthquake in Iran and Pakistan and the Indian soldiers of the United Nations Peace Keeping Force who were killed in an ambush in South Sudan.

The Lok Sabha also paid tributes to the former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher who passed away recently.

The Rajya Sabha has resumed business after it was adjourned for 15 minutes on various issues.
