Lok Sabha adjourned to meet on March 5

The Lok Sabha was adjourned to meet on 5th of March for the second phase of the Budget Session. <br/><br/>As soon as the House re-assembled at Noon after its first adjournment, members from Telugu Desam and YSR Congress parties again trooped into the well in support of their demand for Special Status to Andhra Pradesh. <br/><br/>They also demanded that the Centre fulfil its promises made by the Centre at the time of state's bifurcation in 2014. Congress members raised the issue of Rafale fighter aircraft deal demanding to know its cost. Later, Speaker Sumitra Mahajan adjourned the House as noisy scenes continued.<br/><br/>The Rajya Sabha was also adjourned for the second time till 2.30 PM on the same issue as the agitating TDP members came into well raising slogans in support of their demand. Earlier, Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu informed the House that an Independent member from Odisha, A V Swamy, who fell in the House around noon, was hospitalized.<br/><br/>Later, the House decided to skip the question hour to resume discussion on the General Budget. The House was adjourned till 2.30 PM as it witnessed noisy scenes with regard to Andhra Pradesh.

Lok Sabha adjourned to meet on March 5

Both the Houses of Parliament have been adjourned till noon today following uproar by TDP members from Andhra Pradesh on the demand of special status to the state.<br/>In the Lok Sabha, TDP and YSR members trooped into the well raising slogans in support of their demand. They started shouting slogans demanding special status and fulfillment of the promises made in Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act of 2014. Speaker Sumitra Mahajan tried to pacify the agitating members but in vain forcing her to adjourn the House for an hour.<br/>Rajya Sabha Chairman Venkaiah Naidu adjourned the House on the same issue observing that he cannot run the House as it is not in order.
