The Lok Sabha has been adjourned till noon following uproarious scenes on black money issue by Opposition members. As soon as the House met for today’s business, Members from Trinamool Congress, RJD, Congress, Telangana Rashtra Samiti, Aam Admi Party and Samajwadi party raised the issue demanding suspension of question hour and discussion on the issue.
Quoting rules Speaker Sumitra Mahajan rejected their plea. Members trooped into the well raising slogans of bring back black money. Some of them were carrying umbrellas having slogans on black money. The Speaker tried to conduct question hour amidst noisy scenes. Her repeated appeals for maintaining order were unheeded, forcing the speaker to adjourn the House.
Meanwhile, Parliament Affairs Minister Venkaiah Naidu today said in the Lok Sabha that government is ready for a discussion on black money issue. Responding to the protest by Opposition members on the issue, Mr. Naidu said that government is ready for taking the House into confidence on the steps taken by the government to bring back black money.
He said there is nothing to hide and government is ready to discuss the issue under any Rule Opposition wants. Protest continued with agitating members trooping into the well of the House raising slogans. Amidst noisy scenes, Minister of State Personnel, Dr. Jitendra Singh introduced the Delhi Police Establishment Amendment Bill, 2014.
