Lohri being celebrated in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and HP

<span style="color: #222222;">The festival of Lohri is being celebrated in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and parts of Himachal Pradesh today.</span><br />” <br />” <span style="color: #222222;">The festival marks the end of the winter season and beginning of longer days and shorter nights. It is observed the night before Makar Sankranti.</span><br />” <br />” <span style="color: #222222;">President Ram Nath Kovind has greeted the people on the occasion of Lohri. He also greeted the people on Makar Sankranti, Pongal, Bhogali Bihu, Uttarayan and Poush Parbon.</span><br />” <br />” <span style="color: #222222;">In his message, the President said, the festivals which are celebrated in diverse yet similar ways, across the country, are an occasion to honour the hard work and perseverance of millions of farmers.</span><br />” <br />” <span style="color: #222222;">He hoped that the occasion will herald prosperity for all the people and renew our sense of fraternity. Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu has also greeted the people on Lohri.</span><br />” <br />” <span style="color: #222222;">While releasing a commemorative coin on Guru Govind Singh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted the people on Lohri and expressed hope that it will bring happiness in the lives of farmers.</span><br />
