The Asian Development Bank (ADB), the Central and the Assam Government signed an 81 million dollar loan agreement for sustainable Urban Infrastructure development. It aims at bringing clean piped water to about three lakh fifty thousand residents of the Guwahati city besides upgrading waste-water treatment and urban transport. The fund will also be used for solid waste management and drainage infrastructure in Dibrugarh town in Upper Assam.
