The LMW ITF Futures tennis tournament begins in Coimbatore this Saturday. Top Indian players such as Ramkumar Ramanathan, V M Ranjeet, Vijay Sundar Prashanth and Vishnu Vardhan will be seen in action in the tournament. The five-day event has also attracted participants from China, Philippines, Russia, Kazaksthan and Spain. The qualifying rounds will be played on September 5 and 6. With 24 players in the main draw, the doubles finals will be played on September 11 and singles finals the next day. This is the third time Coimbatore will be hosting the event. The total prize money will be 10,000 US Dollars, with the singles winner getting 1,300 US Dollars and runner up 900 US Dollars. Doubles winners will be awarded 630 US Dollars and runners up 330 US Dollars. Jayakumar Ramadas, president, Coimbatore District Tennis Association, said this today. The winners will be awarded 18 ATP Points, and runner up will earn 10 ATP Points.
