Liverpool sack its manager Brendan Rodgers

English Premier League Club, Liverpool has sacked its manager, Brendan Rodgers. Announcing the decision on its website, the club thanked the Northern Irishman for the contribution he made to the club. The club also said that the search for a new manager is underway and it hopes to make an appointment in a timely manner. Former Borussia Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp, ex-Chelsea and Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti and Ajax boss Frank de Boer have, all, been linked with the Liverpool job in recent weeks.This decision to sack Rodgers came yesterday, hours after the club drew 1-1 with Everton in the mersey-side derby. The draw saw Liverpool go down to the 10th spot in the standings with 12 points from possible 24 in 8 games. Among yesterday's other results, Arsenal got the better of Manchester United in front of their home crowd, with a 3-0 victory. Alexis Sanchez scored 2 goals, while Mesut Ozil also found the net. All the goals came in the first 20 minutes. The win helped Arsenal displace United, on goal difference, to go at the second spot, two points behind leaders Manchester City, going into the international break. In the third game of the day, hosts Swansea City drew with Tottenham Hotspur, 2-2.
