Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu has said that literacy is essential for realising the vision of development for all or Sabka Sath Sabka Vikas. <br/><br/>Speaking at a public function on the occasion of Literacy Day today at Ranchi in Jharkhand, Mr. Naidu said that presence of such large number of illiterate in our country even after 70 years of Independence is challenge that government and people have to overcome together without any politics on it. <br/><br/>He congratulated the Jharkhand government for making at least 25 lakhs illiterates into literates in last three years. After Vice President speech, six ordinary women from the audience asked questions from him. <br/><br/>While replying to one such questions, he said that there is no age- limit for learning. Giving his own example, he said that he did not learn Hindi in his early age, but after coming to Delhi, when he realised that knowing Hindi is essential for growth, he learnt it from others.<br/><br/>Chief Minister Raghuwar Das said that his government is committed to make Jharkhand literate by 2019-20 and appealed all the educated people to contribute at least half an hour daily in making others literate in every possible ways. <br/><br/>He outline the various government initiatives in the field of education and mentioned the works of Governor Draupadi Murmu and State HRD Minister Neera Yadav for their special zeal in promoting education.<br/><br/>Governor Draupadi Murmu, in her speech, said that since education is vital for life, state government is working sincerely to make all literate and educated through various schemes.<br/><br/>Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu also felicitated 20 women for their speacial roles in making their respective Panchayats completely literate.
