In West Bengal, nine persons were killed after being struck by lightning in North Dinajpur district today. Police sources said, the nine persons– seven men, one woman and a child were in the field at Chilandighi, about 30 km from Raiganj when lightning struck them at around 11 AM during rains.In Bihar also, four boys were killed when lightning struck them at Maheshacall in Araria district today. According to police, the incident occurred when the boys in the age group of 12 to 17 were playing in a field in heavy rain and thunderstorm.
