Life remains unaffected in AP

In Andhra Pradesh, life remained unaffected even as educational institutions remained closed in Telangana region today following a bandh call given by the Telangana Joint Action Committee. The Telangana JAC called for bandh in protest against police action yesterday on Osmania University while the Students JAC of Osmania University has called for bandh protesting against the Srikrishna Committee report. The situation in the state remained peaceful as no reports of untoward incidents received from the region. However, protest demonstrations and hectic parleys marked the day.Meanwhile, Telugu Desma Party leaders from Telangana region who tried to hold demonstration before Rajbhavan in Hyderabad have been arrested. The police also arrested the BJP leaders while they were trying to visit Osmania University where clashes between police and students reported yesterday.Meanwhile, Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy has reviewed the law and order situation in the state and directed the police to observe restraint while dealing with agitating mobs.
