The nation-wide bandh called by the Maoists has evoked response in some Naxal infested pockets in a few districts . In West Bengal, Normal life has been affected at Maoist-infested Belpahri, Salboni, Lalgarh, Jhargram in West Midnapore, Ranibadh, Sarenga, Barikul in Bankura and Bandwan in Purulia districts. <br/><br/>Most of the shops and establishments are closed in the Jungle Mahal. Private transport is off the road. However, train services are normal. According to official sources, no untoward incident has so far been reported.<br/><br/> In Chhattisgarh, police have been asked to be on their guard in view of the 48 hour bandh . Railway authorities have also been taking adequate precautions to avert any untoward incident.. Normal vehicular movements in the naxal-sensitive Bastar division has also been affected. No untoward incident has so far been reported from any part of the state.<br/><br/>In Jharkhand, some trains have been cancelled while the routes of some others have been changed in view of the threats issued by the naxals during the bandh.<br/><br/>In Bihar additional security forces have been deployed in Naxal-hit areas to ensure safety and security to the life and property of the people during the bandh.<br/><br/>The East – Central Railway has cancelled four pair of trains till tomorrow in view of the bandh. The trains which have been cancelled include Patna – Singrauli Express, Gomo- Barkakana and Barawadih – Dehri-on -Sone passenger trains.<br/><br/>In Orissa, the two-day bandh call given by Maoists had a partial impact in the red-ultra infested districts. Bus services and vehicular traffic in Maoist-hit districts have been badly affected due to the bandh.
