A Fast Track Court in Bangaluru today sentenced the convicted cab driver Shiva Kumar to life imprisonment till death in the Pratibha Srikrishnamurthy rape and murder case. The Judge, B V Guddali, considered the crime committed by Shiva Kumar as heinous and gruesome. He pronounced that Shiva Kumar will have to undergo 10 years of rigorous imprisonment for Kidnap, 20 years for rape and life term till death for murder of Pratibha. He also ordered fine of 30,000 rupees for the crime committed by him. Earlier , in a Judgement on sixth of this month, the Cab driver Shiva Kumar was convicted in the case and the pronouncement of quantum of punishment was reserved for today. Pratibha, an employee of Business Process Outsourcing, BPO, was raped and brutally murdered by driver Shiva Kumar while he was taking her to the BPO facility.
