In Nepal, normal life in western districts have been affected by a general strike called by Federal Democratic National Party today to press for their demands including a guarantee of the rights of ethnic people in the new Constitution and completion of the stalled peace process. According to police sources, shops, markets, educational institutions and factories remained closed and transport services have been halted in Dang, Banke, Bardiya, Kailali, Kanchanpur and Chitwan districts.
