President Pranab Mukherjee has removed Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry, Virendra Kataria from his post.

A Press communique issued by the Rashtrapati Bhawan said, Mr. Kataria shall cease to hold his office and Lt. General (Retd.) Ajay Kumar Singh, Lieutenant Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands will have additional charge of Puducherry.

This arrangement will continue until regular arrangements are made.
