The government informed the Rajya Sabha today that licences of ten thousand NGOs were cancelled between 2013 and 2016 for not fulfilling the norms under the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act, FCRA. <br/><br/>They received foreign contributions worth 32 thousand crore rupees. Over 16 thousand associations applied for renewal of registration during this period and licences of more than 15 thousand were renewed.
