Libyan army tells people in Benghazai to lay down arms

The Libyan army has told people in Benghazi to lay down their arms as pro-Gaddafi forces killed at least five people in Misrata town held by the rebels . Gaddafi troops are reported to be advancing closer to the rebel stronghold Benghazi. This could be a decisive battle in the uprising against Moamar Gaddafi. A local doctor said, Gaddafi forces attacked Misrata on Wednesday killing at least five people and wounding 10. The town of Ajbadiyah, 150 km south of Benghazi on the Gulf of Sirte, was firmly in government hands after most of its rebel defenders retreated under fire from an artillery barrage on Tuesday. However, media reports say, the Libyan rebels have denied claims that pro-Gaddafi forces have taken Ajdabiya.
