The US president Barack Obama has admitted that there is a stalemate on the ground situation in Libya, but said the noose is tightening on embattled President Moamar Gaddafi. Mr Obama alongwith leaders of France and Britain, released a newspaper article pledging to continue the military campaign until Mr Gaddafi leaves power. More than 100 government rockets fell on Misrata, a major bastion of the rebels for the second day yesterday in western Libya. Hundreds of people are believed to have died in the city. Mr Obama, French president Nicolas Sarkozy and British prime minister David Cameron described the action by Gadaffi forces as a medieval siege. NATO forces pounded capital Tripoli with heavy bombardment.Human Rights Watch have accused Pro-government forces in Libya of using cluster bombs, which are banned by more than 100 countries. The Group said one of its photographers had seen three of the bombs explode over a residential area of the rebel-held city of Misrata. Libyan government has denied the allegation.
