Four days after Libyan rebels entered the capital, Tripoli , most of the fighting there seems have ended. But rebel forces are still trying to capture several towns controlled by fighters loyal to Col. Gaddafi. The rebels say they are exchanging heavy rocket fire with about a thousand Gaddafi loyalists on the road leading to the Colonel's hometown of Sirte and bringing up reinforcements. The Red Cross says both sides in the Libyan conflict have hundred of detainees. A spokesman told the media that the Organisation has visited a few prisoners but it was unclear who was responsible for holding them. South Africa has stalled an American attempt at the United Nations to have one and a half billion dollars worth of confiscated Libyan assets released for the rebel leadership. South Africa 's UN Ambassador said funding Libya 's rebel leadership would imply its recognition.
