The Libyan government has agreed to facilitate “safe passage” to UN aid workers into the western besieged town of Misurata. The town is now under severe shortage of food, power, water and medicine in the face of intense shelling by forces loyal to Gaddafi. In the eastern battlefront, the opposition and the government forces were involved in a seesaw battle for the control of the strategic city of Ajdabiya. Britain will send a team of military officers to Libya to help advise the rebels fighting Col. Muammar Gaddafi. About 10 U.K officers and a similar number from France will provide logistics and intelligence training in Benghazi.
