Li Na becomes 1st Chinese player to French Open enter QFs

In Tennis, Sixth seed Li Na has become the first Chinese player to advance to the quarter-finals of the French Open, taking place in Paris. Li Na yesterday defeated the 21-year-old Czech Petra Kvitova 2-6, 6-1, 6-3 to make it to the last eight. Li Na, who became the first Chinese player to reach a Grand Slam final at the Australian Open earlier this year, will play either fourth seed Victoria Azarenka of Belarus or Russia's Ekaterina Makarova for a place in the semi-finals.
