<span style="color: #222222;">In Kargil, Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LHADC) has decided to adopt Passive Solar Design for all the upcoming Government buildings.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">This was announced by the Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan while inaugurating the first Passive Solar Building office of Kargil Renewable Energy Development Agency (KREDA) at Council Secretariat.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The single floor building came up at cost of Rs 40 Lakh, and with locally available materials, like Mud Bricks, Baked Bricks, Cavity Walls and Double Glazed Building, which if made at the normal procedure would have cost Rs 1.5 Crore.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Feroz Ahmad Khan said that the next government building which will come with the same design will be a 300 bed hospital.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">He further said that the Hospital will be constructed by CPWD. Feroz Ahmad Khan said that this design will bring down the running cost incurred on the heating system as well as help in reducing more carbon emission.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Replying to a question on the salaries of the employees of KREDA which is pending from last one year, Feroz Ahmad Khan said that the issue has been taken with the UT Administration which assured LAHDC Kargil to clear the Salaries of the Employees for one time later they will come up with a policy which will make KREDA sustainable.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">It is pertinent to mention  that the Government of India, particularly the Prime Minister Naredra Modi has announced to make Ladakh a fully Carbon Neutral and KREDA and Ladakh Renewable Energy Development Agency (LREDA) are the nodal agencies to achieve this Dream.</span><br />'' <br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">About the allotment of competitive examination centres with the UT administration for the convenience of the aspirants, Feroz Ahmad Khan said, LAHDC has taken this matter up.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">He told AIR that after Ladakh became UT, the examination centres should be set up in both the Ladakh and Kargil districts on rotation basis.</span><br />''
