At various places in Leh and Kargil different sections of people have participated in Ek Daud Desh Ke Naam to celebrate 144th Birth Anniversary of Sardar Patel.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"><br />'' RK Mathur flagged off the Run for Unity in Leh after swearing-in as Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh. </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"><br />'' AIR correspondent reports, Ladakh celebrated Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's birth anniversary by taking oath of Block Development Chairmans to strengthen grass root level democracy and a Unity Run to express Rashtriya Ekta in true spirit.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"><br />'' 3000 service personnel in Leh and Kargil participated in Ek Daud Desh Ke Naam, flagged off by Fire & Fury GoC Lt. Gen Harinder Singh.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Frontline defenders, Himaveers of ITBP 37 Battalion also participated in Run for Unity flagged off by Commandant Baljinder Singh. District Magistrate Baseer Ul Haq Choudhary flagged off Run for Unity in Kargil, where hundreds of students, sportspersons have participated.  To pay tributes to Sardar Patel the Nehru Yuva Kendra also organized Unity Run by the students in Leh.</span><br />
